Player Expectations

1. Do your best - in school, practice and games.
2. Have a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.
3. Put team success ahead of individual accomplishment and recognition.
4. Follow the directions of your coaches.
5. Players must understand that school sports take priority over Cabarrus Basketball Club teams and act accordingly.
6. Be respectful to others and mindful that you represent the Cabarrus Basketball Club, your community and your family.
7. Take proper care of team uniforms and practice gear.
8. Dress appropriately when traveling, attending games, and Cabarrus Basketball Club functions.
9. Be on time. You should arrive 15 minutes before practices and 1 hour before games.
10. Players shall be at all practices and games unless excused by the head coach.
11. Understand that playing time is earned at practice - not guaranteed. Teams will be selected from the best available players in the county. Thus, many players will have roles different from those they fulfilled on their school, recreation or Boys’ and Girls’ Club team.
12. Understand that failure to comply with team expectations or rules will result in consequences - including loss of playing time, suspension, and termination.
13. Players must remain enrolled as a student in good standing and make satisfactory academic progress to participate.
14. Players must not use profanity and shall behave appropriately.
15. Players must participate in team fundraising activities.
16. If a player quits during the season, he/she must inform their coach as soon as possible and return any team property such as uniform and practice gear.
17. Any player who quits during the season without just cause shall not be eligible to play within the Cabarrus Basketball Club organization the following season unless approved by the Board of Directors.
18. No player may transfer between teams within the Cabarrus Basketball Club organization unless such transfer is approved by the Board of Directors.
